Job summary
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT) is one of the leading cardiac centres in the United Kingdom, with a national and international reputation for excellence in arrhythmia management, innovation, and research. LTHT serves a regional population of 2.8 million across West Yorkshire.

The electrophysiology service in Leeds is a high-volume tertiary centre offering the full range of contemporary technologies. Over 1200 ablation procedures are performed annually, including atrial fibrillation ablation using radiofrequency, cryoballoon, and pulse field ablation technologies, alongside complex atrial tachycardia and ventricular arrhythmia ablation. In addition, more than 1000 device procedures are undertaken each year, including complex pacing, ICD and CRT implantation, conduction system pacing, and lead extraction.

The department is equipped with state-of-the-art electroanatomical mapping systems and imaging integration and provides a comprehensive arrhythmia service including physiologist-led follow-up, remote monitoring, and multidisciplinary care pathways. The service is supported by specialist arrhythmia nurses, cardiac physiologists, research staff, and fellows.

Leeds is actively engaged in the adoption and evaluation of emerging technologies in electrophysiology, including pulse field ablation, advanced mapping techniques, conduction system pacing strategies, leadless pacing technology and novel ICD therapies.
