The closing date is 17 August 2026Job summaryThis post will deliver specialist and general cardiology services for the Royal Free, London NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will contribute to a 1 in 8 general cardiology 7/7 'Consultant of the week' on call model at both the Barnet and Royal Free sites.
The post holder will also provide a cardiology service on a weekly basis at Barts Hospital.
Significantly the post holder will contribute to the electrophysiology service and the simple & complex pacing service offered at the Trust through outpatient clinic work, inpatient patient review, MDTs and through cardiac catheter laboratory.
The post will provide support to our current strategy of expanding our EP and devices service offered by the Trust.

- MDT attendance EP & Devices and Heart Failure

- On Call commitments

Person SpecificationEducation and professional qualificationsEssential- Full registration with the GMC Specialist Register with complete CCT / CESR registration
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent
Desirable- Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent)
- Experience of working in UK healthcare
ExperienceEssential- Subspecialty experience in electrophysiology and devices
- Experience of, and willingness to participate in, a general cardiology on-call / 'Consultant of the Week' rota
Desirable- Experience in service transformation & clinical leadership
- Active participation in research
