Description

Trust Grade Doctor (ST1-2) in the department of ENT
We are inviting applications to fill our Trust Grade vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of ENT. This post is fixed term for 6 months.

Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice by the intended start date.

Interviews planned for 15/09/2026 maybe subject to change.

Job Summary
The Department of Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals is offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Junior Trust Grade Doctor. The post is offered on a 6-month fixed term contract, starting October 2026

Why you should join our Team
Leeds is a large city with the third largest metropolitan population in the country. The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK. The Bexley Wing of St James Hospital is a state of the art oncology centre, serving the whole region.

The ENT department has been rehoused in a new area, offering adjacency of clinic, consultant office, secretaries and management staff, which greatly enhances the working environment. Theatres are in the same area as our related specialties, allowing ease of interspecialty work. The paediatric work is carried out in the adjacent Children’s Hospital, with excellent ward and ICU facilities.

The ENT unit consists of 15 consultants. There are currently 7 senior grade trainees and 8 junior doctors, making this a thriving department covering almost all aspects of ENT surgery.

What you will bring to the role
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills in the assessment and management of acute and elective ENT patients, including inpatient, outpatient, and peri-operative care. They will be an effective communicator, able to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and engage confidently with patients and their relatives. The post holder will be organised, adaptable, and capable of managing competing clinical priorities, including participation in the ENT on-call rota and the management of emergency presentations. A commitment to high-quality patient care, service improvement, research, audit, and ongoing professional development is essential, alongside a keen interest in developing experience within a busy and supportive ENT department.

Please see the attached job description for further information about this vacancy.
