Welford Ward, refurbished in 2023, is a modern eating disorders unit at the Bennion Centre, Glenfield Hospital. It provides care for up to 15 adult inpatients from across the East Midlands. The ward offers spacious accommodation, two enclosed gardens, single bedrooms, and separate areas for male and female patients.
We are seeking motivated, caring and compassionate Senior Health Care Support Workers to join our established team. You will play a key role in supporting patients and working alongside Band 5 and 6 Nurses, Medics, Dietitians, SALT, fellow Senior Health Care Support Workers, the Ward Manager and Team Managers to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care.
Based at the Bennion Centre, Glenfield Hospital, this role offers excellent training and development opportunities to support your career progression. We are looking for individuals who are genuinely passionate about caring for patients. The service operates 24/7 on a rotational shift pattern, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the jobThis role supports the qualified Nursing Staff and the wider multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of direct patient care and supporting patients in maintaining their health and wellbeing.
The Senior Healthcare Support Worker is responsible for providing personal and clinical care, undertaking clinical observations and other clinical and therapeutic interventions as delegated by the registered Practitioner and in accordance with existing competencies.
Senior Healthcare Support Workers provide care, support and monitor the physical and mental health and well-being of individuals in their care.
Band 3 Health Care Support Workers are given training in NG Tube feeding and are supported to develop further clinical skills such as wound management, tissue viability, infection control and other relevant skills.
