Main Duties of the JobWe want a Consultant Psychiatrist who can deliver the highest quality of clinical care to our patents and carers.

You will provide excellent clinical leadership and actively develop your team along with expert advice to our hospital and community specialists, managers and directors on what is needed to deliver excellent care and to develop future strategic directions.
The consultant has a continuing responsibility for the care of patients and for the proper functioning of the department. The consultant will liaise with the general practitioners, hospital and community specialists and other agencies wherever relevant.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
- MRC Psych or equivalent
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or equivalent within 6 months of the interview date
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
Desirable- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
- Additional clinical qualifications
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
ExperienceEssential- Clinical expertise in specialty / sub specialty
- Excellence clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
