Have knowledge of and adhere to relevant parts of national legislation, including Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH Regulations, and Moving and Handling Regulations
Transport people and/or items safely and to time consistent with legislation, policies and procedures.
To report any faulty equipment in the trust to shift co-ordinators to ensure quick maintenance carried out.

Person SpecificationExperience- 6 Months NHS General Hospital Experience as a Health Care Assistant
Knowledge & Skills- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Must pass basic numeracy and literacy tests as set out by the Trust
- Good basic hygiene skills (e.g. food handling, hand washing etc.)
- Punctual and reliable
- Must be computer literate
- Ability to follow a clear instruction and feed back to senior staff.
- Able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative.
- Caring for people.
- Manual handling of patients using lifting aid
Personal Qualities- Flexibility- Able and willing to work flexible shift patterns, internal rotation to day and night duty and unsocial hours, according to service needs.

- Enthusiasm to learn and progress within the care profession
Qualifications- Good general education - Minimum GCSE A-C in Maths/English or equivalent
Desirable- NVQ Level 2 in Health and social care or HCA Care Certificate
- Moving & Handling, Infection control, Fire safety and Safe Guarding Certificates within 1 year
