Job summaryIt's an exciting time to join Royal Manchester Children's Hospital specifically; we're recruiting for Senior Resident Doctors to join our dynamic and developing teams within our paediatric oncology, haematology and stem cell transplant and gene therapy services. These amazing opportunities will give you a thorough grounding in paediatric oncology, benign and malignant haematology, clinical stem cell transplantation and gene therapies, including CAR-T gene therapies and provides you with the chance to rotate through each speciality. What's more, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your clinical skills in a highly regarded and internationally renowned service. As the third largest paediatric oncology/ haematology unit in the UK, we serve a large part of the NW of England. We're looking for motivated and passionate individuals to bring enthusiasm and excellence to our team whilst providing a broad range of high-quality services to our patients. In addition, you'll also be surrounded with excellent support from a wide multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the jobThis is a clinical paediatric oncology, haematology, and BMT position. The majority of time will be spent in the clinical service. There will be opportunities to participate in teaching, research and quality improvement project. It is expected that there will be 4 such positions and the specific balance of clinical sub-specialty placement will reflect the training ambition and needs of the fellow as well as clinical need/ balance within the department. On call cover of the wider department will be expected.

Person SpecificationKnowledge, Skills & PerformanceEssential- Holds acceptable primary medical qualification
- Demonstrable postgraduate training
- Competence in managing medical emergencies
- Evidence of clinical competencies in their medical specialty
- An appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems

Desirable- Awards/distinctions whilst studying for 1st degree
