Job summary
This is a senior clinical role combining a reduced specialist caseload with professional leadership responsibilities. You will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and High Intensity interventions in line with NICE guidance and NHS Talking Therapies standards. Alongside your clinical work, you will provide clinical supervision, consultation, mentoring and workforce development for High Intensity Therapists, trainee High Intensity Therapists and other designated colleagues.

Main duties of the job
Our NHS Talking Therapies service provides evidence-based psychological therapies for adults experiencing depression, anxiety disorders and related mental health difficulties. Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical care while supporting the ongoing development of our High Intensity workforce.

This is a senior clinical role combining a reduced specialist caseload with professional leadership responsibilities. You will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and High Intensity interventions in line with NICE guidance and NHS Talking Therapies standards. Alongside your clinical work, you will provide clinical supervision, consultation, mentoring and workforce development for High Intensity Therapists, trainee High Intensity Therapists and other designated colleagues.

You will also contribute to service development, quality improvement, clinical audit and pathway decision-making, helping to ensure our service continues to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care. Working closely with the Clinical Lead, Deputy Clinical Lead and wider Talking Therapies team, you will promote evidence-based practice and support excellent outcomes for the people who use our services.

To be successful in this role, you will:
  • Be an experienced and professionally accredited practitioner in an NHS Talking Therapies approved High Intensity intervention.
  • Have substantial experience delivering evidence-based psychological therapies for adults with depression, anxiety disorders and related mental health conditions.
  • Demonstrate excellent assessment, formulation, treatment planning, risk assessment and risk management skills.
  • Have experience providing high-quality clinical supervision, mentoring or consultation to psychological therapists or trainees.
  • Be confident working autonomously whilst contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Have excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams and partner organisations.
  • Be passionate about delivering high standards of evidence-based care in line with NICE guidance and NHS Talking Therapies standards.
  • Be committed to continuous professional development, maintaining professional accreditation and supporting the development of others.
  • Demonstrate a compassionate, inclusive and non-judgemental approach, promoting equality, diversity, dignity and respect in all aspects of your work.
  • Have excellent organisational skills, clinical record keeping and knowledge of information governance and safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications
Essential
  • Qualified as a CBT therapist for a minimum of 2 years.
  • AND
  • Fully accredited or eligible & willing to apply for full Accreditation, with submission to professional body within a reasonable timescale.
