Job summary
We are looking for experienced Critical Care registered nurses to work in our general intensive care unit/high dependency unit. This is a very busy 18 bedded unit that admits medical, surgical, emergency and elective patients.

The unit has excellent post critical care course opportunities for development and clinical progression with an established clinical facilitation team.

You will be afforded the chance to be funded and supported through leadership, clinical and education courses as part of your career progression.

Main duties of the job
Your role involves ensuring that the care of the critically ill adult is planned, implemented and evaluated following best practice. You will need to act as a positive role model at all times, display excellent communication and interpersonal skills and act as an expert practitioner, caring for the critically ill adult and their families towards recovery or providing end of life care. You will be a role model to other members of the MDT and a resource for junior colleagues.

You will adhere to the NMC Code of practice at all times.

Qualifications

  • NMC Registration
  • Critical Care course

  • Teaching qualification
  • Current or recent critical care experience.

Experience

  • Current or recent critical care experience.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide high quality patient care with minimal supervision and present a professional image, which inspires confidence.
  • Demonstrate the commitment and ability to support, teach and mentor junior staff.

Desirable
  • Area of specialist Interest

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
