Job summaryThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Audiologist to expand their portfolio and to take up the role of Head of Audiology with both clinical and service management responsibilities. Our Service Managers are pivotal in the safe and effective delivery of patient care and work in collaboration with clinical and administrative teams to lead and manage defined services.
The successful candidate will have operational, staff and budget management experience gained in an NHS setting and will need to draw upon previous experience of service and business planning and delivery of key performance targets and quality indicators.
The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by a desire for quality and innovation.
This post will directly lead the day-to-day operational management of Adult Audiology service at Leighton Hospital and will take direct responsibility for working alongside other operational and corporate services in providing a safe, efficient patient care.

Main duties of the job- Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure services are comprehensively assessed, appropriately planned, effectively implemented and evaluated according to agreed policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Provide operational management for agreed service(s), providing expertise, advice and guidance from a broad knowledge base to improve services by anticipating needs, planning and implementing change according to Divisional plans and objectives, and changing health care needs.
- With the support of the Senior Management Team, lead on the review and development of service and workforce plans, in conjunction with other services & Divisions, the wider health care community and external agencies according to current national and local requirements.
- Analyse and act on information to proactively manage and maintain NHS targets.

Person Specification- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Senior operational management experience in managing Audiology services
- Capacity to operate and think laterally at strategic and operational level, with evidence of delivery within strategic level projects and operational work streams.
