acute minor illness and injury when the patient is unable to access their own surgery.
We are seeking clinicians to join our bank team and provide flexible cover for annual leave, sickness absence, and periods of increased service demand. The Walk-In Centre operates seven days a week from 7:00am to 7:00pm, offering a range of shifts that staff can choose to suit their availability.
Main duties of the job- To work as an autonomous clinical practitioner, using care and case management assessment, clinical examination, and diagnostic skills to deliver high-quality holistic care and treatment.
- To prescribe efficiently from the extended nurses formulary.
- To assist in the coordination of Norfolk Primary Care (NPC) Walk-In Service daily.

Job responsibilitiesMain Clinical Responsibilities:- To undertake a comprehensive holistic assessment, liaising and referring to other agencies and professionals as necessary.
- To use clinical examination and diagnostic skills, initiate investigation, prescribe care and treatment as appropriate.
- To facilitate and/or provide health promotion and education.
- To work collaboratively with other health professionals and agencies.
- To develop and maintain advanced nursing skills.
- To prescribe effectively from the non-medical nurse prescribers formulary in line with local and national prescribing formularies.
Education and Development:- To support peer review and reflective practice.
- To formally and informally disseminate knowledge and skills to other staff.
- To proactively develop practice across boundaries.
- To undertake and participate in clinical supervision.
- To identify personal and professional development needs and implement action plans to meet those needs.
- To participate in agreed in-service training programmes.
- To contribute to identifying own training needs and those of nurses working at the Centre.

Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Minimum of 3 years post registration experience.
- Experience of working autonomously and as part of team at primary care.
- Experience in management minor illness and minor injury at primary care.
- Evidence of appropriate continuing professional development activity to maintain up-to-date knowledge and on-going competence all aspects of the ANP/NP/paramedic clinical practitioner role.
- Understanding of evidence-based practice.
Desirable- Experience of in urgent care setting.
- Experience with Paediatric examination.
- Teaching /Mentoring experience or qualification.
- Experience of using SystmOne.
QualificationsEssential- Registered general Nurse degree /Paramedic BSC or degree or equivalent level 1 degree.
- NMC registration Nurse or HCPC paramedic.
- Non-medical prescribing course level 6/7.
Desirable- MSC level 7 advanced professional practice.
- Paediatric /Adult ALS/ILS.
- Qualification for minor illness /minor injury course of level 7.
Skills & AbilitiesEssential- Ability to perform clinical examination, make a diagnosis, prescribing medication, and treatment plan for patient with minor illness or minor injury.
- Ability to identify and manage emergency or acute presentations.
- Ability to assess and manage patient risk effectively and safely.
