SDEC is a very busy unit dealing with medical surgical and ED patients. HCA'S in our department are an integral part of our team and must be confident in managing their own workload.

Working on SDEC is extremely rewarding and interesting and you will work in all areas of our department.

HCA'S on SDEC have a varied role and there will always be opportunities for learning.

HCA'S on SDEC will be encouraged to work towards gaining competencies relevant to their role such as ECG, Venepuncture , Cannulation and NEWS 2 Training

Main duties of the job
SDEC HCA'S will undertake high quality and compassionate personal care and associated duties under supervision/direction of the registered professional on duty, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will be responsible for ensuring our department is clean and tidy , stock is rotated and filled .

You will assist our multidisciplinary team in varied ways to ensure our patients receive the best care possible.

Job responsibilities
HCA's will be patient focused and give excellent patient care for both our in patients and our day patients.

You will work under the direction of a registered Health Professional and be part of a multi disciplinary team.

You will support our patients with all of their care needs from communication , hygiene , moving and handling, diet and fluid intake to discharge.
