Job summaryThe post is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic nurse who will be responsible for the direct healthcare management of patients with a range of gynaecological conditions primarily but they will have oportunity to expand skills and knowledge in caring for women with surgical, orthopaedic and medical conditions. There is also opportunity to co-ordinate care within the Gynae assessment unit open 7 days a week 8 am - 8pm
Main duties of the jobThe post holder has the responsibility as a registered, accountable and autonomous nurse to act in the best interests of patients at all times and take the responsibility for own actions and decisions. You will be responsible for the planning, delivering and supervising of safe and compassionate care, and evaluating the effectiveness of that care. You will be required to demonstrate leadership qualities and be open, transparent and trustworthy.
The post holder will be responsible for own practice and also will support the team in compliance with clinical procedures, protocols and practise to ensure effective delivery of service to patients within the trust.
The role will involve working on an acute admissions ward predominately for patients with gynaecological and pregnancy related conditions, Ward C20 also accepts admissions of patients from other specialties requiring an acute admission and treatment.

Job responsibilities- Ensure that the patient's pathway through their admission is delivered efficiently and with expert clinical knowledge and skills.
- Perform comprehensive assessment of patients nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing health needs and varying levels of health complexity.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations, also recognising the needs of deteriorating patients, timely and actively with knowledge and skill.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of all patients care delivery in line with trust record keeping standards.
