Job Summary
We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for Qualified Staff Nurses to work in the new Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital as part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Fundation Trust.

Ideally our chosen candidates will have proven post-registration experience in a trauma environment.

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder is responsible for the assessment of patient care needs and development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, both for a specific group of patients as the named care provider and in supporting the care of all patients.

As a nurse you will assist in the management and organisation of work as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times, providing support for junior staff. You will play a key role in the supervision and assessment of all learners and unregistered staff, providing a teaching role and acting as a named supervisor.

Using your proven clinical experience and skills you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of programmes of care, both for a specific group of patients as the named care provider and in supporting the care of all patients on the ward / unit.

You will assist in the management and organisation of work, as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times and will provide support for junior staff on the ward.

Job Responsibilities
This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK.

Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Essential: Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2)
  • Desirable: Level 1 Major Trauma Nurse Competency

Experience
  • Essential: Experience in trauma, orthopaedics or neurosciences
  • Essential: Evidence of experience working in an acute care setting
  • Desirable: Experience in caring for Major Trauma patients

Professional Development
  • Essential: Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Desirable: Completion of leadership course
