Job Summary
Small Heath Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking team for 4 to 6 sessions per week.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established practice serving a diverse patient population in East Birmingham. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while promoting a healthy work-life balance for clinicians through manageable workloads, strong administrative support, and a collaborative multidisciplinary approach.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced GPs, nurses, clinical pharmacists, and administrative staff to provide safe, effective, and compassionate primary care services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The post holder will:
  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to registered patients.
  • Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations.
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and review treatment plans in accordance with national and local guidelines.
  • Deliver evidence-based clinical care and promote patient wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate, clear, and contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web.
  • Participate in preventive healthcare programmes and chronic disease management.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including pharmacists, nurses, social prescribers, and community services.
  • Contribute to safeguarding responsibilities and risk management processes.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities, audits, quality improvement projects, and service development initiatives.
  • Attend practice meetings and educational sessions.
  • Undertake home visits when clinically appropriate, although these are kept to a minimum.
