If yes, then read on....An exciting opportunity 12 month secondment opportuntiy has arisen for a Specialist Nurse to join our Head and Neck cancer specialist nursing team at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.Main duties of the jobOur nursing teams are central to the delivery of excellent care to cancer patients attending the Oxford University Hospital. Our teams deliver a holistic approach to patient care using the latest technologies to support individualised assessments and care planning. You will work closely with other members of the specialist nursing teams, the wider MDT and cancer services, providing a service across care boundaries in liaison with primary and palliative care. Job responsibilitiesSpecialist Nurse, in Head and Neck Cancer Specialist Nursing Service:Develop and provide comprehensive clinical care, specialist advice, and support to patients in the Head and Neck Cancerservice.To work within the ACCEND capabilities framework and develop a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate Enhanced level working (see additional document for capabilities).Work as an autonomous, specialist practitioner alongside members of the multidisciplinary team in service the Head and Neck Cancer service.Service specific skills, tasks or procedures required are tracheostomy/airway management, advanced communication and level two psychological support skills, nutritional support, delivery of Holistic Needs Assessments (HNAs) and wound management (training for all provided)Develop and deliver a high-quality practitioner led clinic in the Head and Neck Cancerservice.Role will include line management and/or supervision of the Cancer Care Coordinator in the service.Be flexible within the Head and Neck Cancerservice to ensure appropriate specialist cover.

- NMC Registration
- Demonstrable evidence of ability to achieve post-graduate study at level 6 or 7
Desirable- MSC in relevant subject to role
- Leadership Course/qualification
Knowledge and experienceEssential- Demonstrable experience caring for H&N patients and/or patients with cancers
- Knowledge of cancer treatments
- Excellent clinical and practical skills
- Experience of teaching/coaching patients
- Evidence of excellent communication skills
