Job summary
A fantastic opportunity for a salaried GP to join our friendly team for 4-6 sessions per week.

The role is based in our Walton-on-the-Naze practice, which has been recognised in patient surveys as one of the best practices in the area. Walton is a family seaside resort with sandy beaches, seafront gardens, quaint narrow streets and the second longest pier in England.

Main duties of the job
You will be part of the GP team managing a busy, interesting clinical caseload spread over the populations covered by Walton Medical Centre and ensuring the highest standard of care for all registered and temporary patients. You will carry out all the duties reasonably expected of an NHS general practitioner using the standards expected by the GMC and RCGP in line with appropriate national and/or local guidelines.

In accordance with the practice rota, as agreed, you will make yourself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery, telephone and electronic consultations and queries, visiting patients homes, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

You will be making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other care workers within the organisation.

Walton Medical is based in the seaside town of Walton-on-the-Naze in north-east Essex.

There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within our area which will provide an interesting and varied case mix.

You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. The clinical team consists of 2 partners, 2 salaried GPs, ANPs, practice nurses and GPAs.

You will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients of the practice.

Qualifications
Essential

• Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
• Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
• Be on the NHSE medical performers list

• Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services;
• Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date;
• Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety;
• Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.
