About the RolePriory Hospital Burgess Hill has an opportunity for a Consultant Psychologist with an HCPC registration to join our team. This role is a 12-month maternity cover from October 2026 to October 2027. Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is a specialist acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) service for adult males. Conveniently located in Hassocks, West Sussex, the hospital is close to the A23, providing road access to Brighton, Gatwick and the M25. Due to the rural location, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.
Key Responsibilities- Play a key part in patient recovery, supporting assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.
- Provide support and guidance to other psychologists, assistants and trainee psychologists.
- Work with clients with complex needs relevant to the population in the service area.
- Develop and deliver formulation led care and be competent in a range of therapeutic delivery.
- Responsible for delivery/oversight of supervision and running reflective practice groups.
Essential for the Role- HCPC registration as a Consultant Psychologist.
- Minimum of five years' post-registration experience at Consultant level, demonstrating leadership and strategic experience.
- Essential training includes CBT and at least two further therapeutic modalities, including at least one intervention appropriate to the patient group.
