We are looking to recruit a friendly, enthusiastic, highly motivated experienced part-time Practice Nurse to join our fabulous Practice team. We are a very busy GP Practice in Bradford and we are located 5 minutes from the M62 and M606 motorways.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-time individual who is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of our practice population. The post holder needs to enjoy challenges and seeing the results their work has achieved. Accredited training in chronic disease management of Diabetes and respiratory is ideally essential, but all levels of experience in the other desired areas will be considered for the right candidate, as training will be given in these areas if you do not already possess these.

Main duties of the job
Skills and Experience:
  • Qualified and experienced practice nurse
  • System One experience and trained with good computer skills
  • Qualified in chronic disease management of Diabetes, COPD and Asthma (essential)
  • Qualified in cervical cytology (desirable)
  • Qualified in other chronic disease management (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise workload
  • Good organisational skills
  • Desire to work in a changing environment
  • Empathetic and caring nature
  • Ear irrigation (desirable)
  • Travel (essential)
  • Venepuncture (essential)

General information:
Competitive salary
Starting date: Sept 2026 or as soon as possible after this date
Hours: 24-25 hours per week. Exact times can be negotiated but we would prefer at least one day to be a 6.00pm finish.
Days: Ideally Mon Fri 5 hours per day but may consider 6 hours over 4 days but must include working on a Wed-Fri and 1 other day.
Reporting to: GP Partners/Practice Manager

About us
We are a family friendly practice who are very team supportive and deliver high quality care to our diverse group of over 9200 patients. Our team consists of 4 GP Partners, 5 Salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses (this includes the vacant post), 1 Nurse Associate Apprentice, 1 HCA, a management team and clerical team.We are also a training practice for GP Registrars and Trainee Nurses.

The practice is part of the Primary Care Network within our locality. We are also consistently high QOF achievers and participate in numerous Enhanced Services.

Job responsibilities
Job title: Practice Nurse

Hours: 24-25 hours per week (Mon-Fri)

Job summary:
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of practice nursing care to the population of Rooley Lane Medical Centre. The post holder will integrate with the whole practice team and third party health care professionals (as and when appropriate) to deliver high quality patient care, whilst working in accordance with the UKCC Code of Conduct and agreed practice protocols and guidance. The post-holder will provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients.

The post-holder will have the required level of training and competencies and will work within patient group directions where these are available.

Person Specification
Experience
Essential
  • High level of IT skills (MS Office, internet etc)
  • Competent in basic nursing skills e.g Phlebotomy, taking Blood pressure etc
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure

Desirable
  • Experience in using systm1 (clinical system)
  • Experience of working in a GP Practice Team
  • Keen to develop with the existing team

Qualifications
Essential
  • RGN Qualification and current NMC registration
  • Accredited training in Chronic disease management of Diabetes and respiratory.
  • Up-to-date with childhood immunisation training and travel vaccination training.
  • High level of clinical nursing skills including wound care

Desirable
  • Accredited training in full spirometry and CHD
  • Qualified in cervical cytology
  • Qualified in Ear irrigation
