Job summary
The Royal Free has an exciting opportunity in our Renal Team. We are seeking a Clinical Specialist Renal Dietitian for a 0.5 WTE, 1-year FTC (Maternity Cover) to work in our multi-disciplinary therapy team led by a Clinical Lead Renal Occupational Therapist and Clinical Lead Renal Dietitian, the team is made of dietitians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and therapy assistants - across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Our team supports people living with kidney disease and urological conditions across three wards based at The Royal Free Hospital site, and 5 outpatient centres for low clearance, dialysis and transplantation. The Royal Free is the provider for NCL for urological care (medical and surgical) as well as being the NCL tertiary centre for chronic kidney disease management including renal transplantation. This role is based predominantly in renal outpatients based on Dialysis units across NCL.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated dietitian who demonstrates exceptional understanding of the complexity of a person living with CKD. They would provide specialist nutritional care to our renal patients mostly within the Haemodialysis setting. Proven experience autonomously managing people with complex nutritional diagnoses is essential. Experience supporting the development of junior staff will be highly regarded, as will skills in quality improvement, service evaluation or audit.

Education and professional qualifications
Essential

• Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
• Health Professions Council (HPC) registration
• Additional qualification or BDA accredited courses or equivalent in-house training e.g. PENG clinical update, renal course
• Experience of working in renal dietetics, IP, Pre Dialysis or Dialysis

Desirable

• Membership of special interest group
• Evidence or portfolio of post-graduate continued development

Experience
Essential

• Broad range of clinical experience, across a variety of clinical areas
• Experience of managing renal patients
• Motivational Interviewing/ Behaviour Change training (CBT or facilitation skills)
