Job summary
A Senior Clinical Fellow (IMT3+, registrar grade) post is available in Acute Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital, London, Hampstead site. The posts will be available immediately for a fixed term period, for a minimum of 12 months, with the option of extending if mutually desirable.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical job will include, but not be restricted to, leading the medical take, ward cover shifts and the care of short term medical patients, as well as helping to manage patients in the ambulatory Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) service.
The Senior Clinical Fellow will primarily be based on the Acute Medicine wards and areas contributing to the on call rota. They will enable rapid discharge and provide timely review of patients under their care.
The post holder will participate in Acute Medicine ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings. Working with the ward MDT and community teams they will develop person-centred plans for the management plans for in-patient care and post-discharge.

- MRCP UK or equivalent
- A primary medical qualification as recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC).

Experience, Skills and aptitudes
Essential:
- Evidence of appropriate general and acute medical experience +/- speciality
- Experience of working in Same Day Emergency Care / Ambulatory Care
- Clinical and procedural skills consistent with those expected at end of ST/CT2 or ST3+
- Good communication skills including a good command of written and spoken English
Desirable:
- Experience of and involvement in clinical governance and audit procedures.
- Training and education of undergraduate and postgraduate students
