Job SummaryWe are looking to appoint Full Time Specialty Doctor in (non-surgical) Oncology, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield. Weston Park Hospital is the specialist cancer centre, serving the hospitals and population of the North Trent Cancer Network. The successful candidate may be expected to work at both Weston Park Cancer Centre and our partner District General Hospitals/Off Site clinics.
This is a permanent post designed to support the breast cancer service. Clinical duties will be based at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield as well as our neighbouring District General Hospitals.
Main DutiesA core 10 PA job plan would include 1 SPA. Appointees will agree a suitable job plan with the clinical director aligned to the service needs and the individuals needs for career development and progression.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Medical Degree from a recognised UK or overseas university or institution.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice at the time of application.
Desirable- MD or PhD or equivalent Fellowship or equivalent
- Fellowship or equivalent
Audit/ ResearchEssential- An understanding of the issues of clinical effectiveness and audit.
- Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate
Desirable- Documented completed audits during training
Clinical ExperienceEssential- A minimum of 4 years full time postgraduate training (or equivalent gained on a part-time basis) at least 2 of which will be in a specialty training programme in the relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in the specialty or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
Desirable- Wider experience in different units.
- Recent 12 months NHS experience.
TeachingEssential- Willingness and ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate trainees
Management and Clinical GovernanceEssential- Demonstrate and understanding of management & clinical governance issues.
Personal AttributesEssential- Good written and oral communication skills
