We have opportunities at both Musgrove Park Hospital and Yeovil District Hospital and we welcome applications from trainee pharmacists due to register after completing the GPhC assessment this year, newly qualified pharmacists and qualified pharmacists from other sectors who are interested in expanding their practice into hospital. Main duties of the jobYou'll join our friendly team of rotational pharmacists and will gain experience in all areas of pharmacy and clinical services. We provide dispensary training and clinical rotations through different specialities including medicine, surgery, acute admissions, paediatrics and aseptic services (Musgrove Park Hospital only). Somerset NHS Foundation Trust provides clinical pharmacy services to two acute hospitals, specialist mental health units and community hospitals across Somerset. This is a great opportunity to develop clinical skills in a wide variety of settings and to work alongside pharmacists specialising in these areas. You will be supported by our team of senior pharmacists (including independent prescribers) and by accredited medicines optimisation technicians and assistants as we develop and expand our ward based Medicines Optimisation teams.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Masters degree or equivalent in Pharmacy
- Full current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Commitment and evidence of professional updating and formal continuous professional development
ExperienceEssential- Broad clinical pharmacy experience and knowledge of therapeutics
- Experience of working with patients in a healthcare setting
Desirable- Previous hospital pharmacy experience
- Working as part of a multi-professional team within a clinical/ward environment
- Demonstrable use of clinical audit/research to improve practice
