Job SummaryWe are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive primary care team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Practice Nurse or a nurse looking to further develop their clinical skills within a busy GP practice.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to our patient population and work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
Main Duties of the JobApplicants must be competent and confident in delivering core Practice Nursing services, including:
- Childhood immunisations and vaccinations
- Cervical cytology (smear taking)
- Complex wound care and dressings
- NHS travel vaccinations and advice
- Health promotion and preventative care
- Infection prevention and control
- Chronic disease monitoring and general nursing duties within primary care

Job Responsibilities- Carry out cervical screening in accordance with national guidance.
- Administer childhood, adult and travel immunisations (where appropriately trained).
- Administer vaccinations, including seasonal influenza (where applicable).
- Perform wound care, dressings and ulcer management.
- Remove sutures and clips.
- Undertake ear irrigation (where trained and appropriate).
- Carry out NHS Health Checks.
- Perform ECGs and other clinical observations.
- Conduct venepuncture where required.
- Undertake health promotion and lifestyle advice.
- Provide contraceptive advice and injectable contraception.
- Support infection prevention and control procedures.
- Recognise deteriorating patients and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using the clinical system.
- Deliver structured reviews for patients with long-term conditions.
