Sulis Hospital Bath, a leading healthcare provider in Somerset, is looking for an Ophthalmology Specialist Nurse to work in our Outpatient Department.
Main duties of the jobYou will be providing the highest standards of care for our ophthalmology patients, while considering the specialist clinical needs of each patient. The ability to undertake the following are essential for the role:
- Visual Acuity tests.
- Biometry measurements.
- OCT Macular & Glaucoma scans.
- Pentacam scans.
- Visual Field tests.
- Assist with Intravitreal Injections.
- Assist with minor eyelid procedures.

Job responsibilitiesPermanent 37.5 hours
The Outpatient Department is open 8am until 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays
Shifts are variable according to the needs of the Ophthalmology service
This role requires DBS clearance

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Post registration qualification in Ophthalmology or at least 2 years recent post-registration experience with completion of ratified competencies
- Extensive experience of working autonomously at an advanced level within the specialist area delivering effective patient focused care.
- Demonstrable record of Continuing Professional Development.
- Sound knowledge of current issues in the profession and practice of ophthalmology nursing.
Desirable- Degree in relevant speciality
- Teaching/Assessing qualification
