Job summary
Wadhurst Medical Group - Sussex Primary Care (SPC) is a friendly, growing GP practice looking to welcome a new GP to the team.We pride ourselves on creating a supportive, collaborative environment where clinicians can thrive. Our practice has consistently achieved excellent QOF results and is supported by an experienced, established nursing team. We have streamlined administrative workflows to reduce GP workload, enabling our GPs to focus on delivering high-quality patient care. We also offer 15-minute appointments and a manageable home visiting commitment of just one home visit per day.We are committed to supporting both your professional and personal development, providing the opportunities and encouragement needed to build a rewarding career. Main duties of the job
  • Are MRCGP qualified
  • Are registered on the GMC GP Register with licence to practice
  • Are on an NHS National performers list (England, Wales or Northern Ireland)
  • Are UK based (necessity)
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have excellent clinical decisionmaking skills
  • Have a passion for healthcare
  • Are motivated and committed to developing the knowledge and skills required for the role and for ongoing professional development

Job responsibilities
a) Responsible for providing primary medical services to the registered patients of the practice, ensuring the highest standards of care for all, undertaken in line with the relevant national primary care contractual regulations and guidelines.
b) Provide care for both on-the day care for patients and pre-booked patients with long term conditions.
c) Responsible for maintaining the smooth running of the practice.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
  • A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003
  • Accredited as a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or have 5 years experience as a full time GP with a demonstrable commitment to quality practice.
  • Currently on a performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register
  • Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Experience
Essential
  • Commitment to and experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary and skill mixed team environment
  • Experience of working to achieve standards within the Quality and Outcome Framework (QOF)
  • Clinical Governance
  • Primary care prevention and screening services
  • Self-audit and reflection
  • Organised and efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork
  • Time management being able to prioritise work and work under pressure
  • Computer literacy
  • Adaptability to change

Skills and Knowledge
Essential
  • Willingness to share and collaborate across entire primary health team
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams
  • Ability to work flexibly
  • Ability to recognize own limitations and act upon them appropriately
  • Willingness to learn new skills and to problem solve on a daily basis
  • An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work within the changing structures of the NHS and work to the requirements of other regulatory bodies
  • Excellent communicator
  • Work in line with practice systems and processes
