Job summarySwanpool Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for a salaried GP to join our friendly, hardworking and patient focused practice in Tipton, Black Country. We are a large practice with an ethos that focusses on high quality patient care with a holistic approach in improving the health needs of our local community.
We are looking for a team player with the enthusiasm to make a difference to our practice and patients with a real interest in making a difference in health inequalities.
Main duties of the jobWe are looking for a motivated GP to undertake a variety of duties including surgery face to face consultations, telephone triage, duty doctor, path labs, docman, prescriptions and queries on a day to day basis.
The post-holder will be expected to undertake all normal duties, making professional and autonomous decisions and all responsibilities associated within a GP working within primary care.
There is scope for further development in terms of lead roles, specialty interests and support in progression.

Our reception and admin team work exceptionally hard directing patients to the most appropriate care ensuring they are seen by the most suitable health care professional first time.
Job responsibilitiesTo work as a practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree
- Qualified GP MRCGP - General practitioner certificate of completion of training CCT
- Full GMC registration
ExperienceEssential- Worked in General Practice
- Understanding of Patient Demand in deprived areas
- Understanding of Clinical Governance and quality issues
- Understanding of the role of teamwork in providing quality services
- Experience in Chronic Disease Management
- Experience of teaching in general practice and a clear commitment to mentor our medical students.
- Experience in maintaining patients records at an acceptable standard for audit purposes
- To understand the patients perspective in developing and delivering quality services
Desirable- Ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet etc
