Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 registered learning disability nurse to join the LD CAMHS community teams, the successful applicant will work between LD North and South community teams as well as the PBS+ and the IPBS team.

We are looking to employ a highly motivated learning disability nurse with drive and enthusiasm in this field of nursing. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge around the PBS pathway, a patient centred approach to care, have excellent assessment and risk management skills. The post holder will be responsible for the management of a caseload of patients and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. They will also be required to provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior members of the community team.

Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will have a caseload covering Durham & Darlington for children and young people who require support through the PBS Pathway.

The post holder will provide clinical supervision and support to staff to allow them to understand complex presentation and work collaboratively to develop an understanding of a young person's needs.

You will work collaboratively with the wider CAMHS services and partner agencies, providing direct assessment and understanding of a child/young person's needs. You will develop working hypothesis' and understanding of formulation of the distress behaviours.

Qualifications
Essential

• Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RNMH / RNLD/ (RNSC - CAMHS Only)
• Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor
• Trained in Clinical Supervision and be providing Clinical Supervision
• Professional clinical knowledge and experience acquired through degree (or equivalent post registration study), supplemented by specialist training, experience, short courses, Module (20 credit) at level 7 For example Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma/Masters Degree, Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Postgraduate diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP (Independent Prescriber), Psychosocial Interventions,
• And have Equivalent significant clinical experience such as working (minimum of 2 years) as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area, together with evidence of relevant CPD to Level 7 or equivalent

Knowledge
Essential

• Demonstrate clinical history taking and assessment skills in order to provide nurse led diagnosis and treatment planning
• Demonstrate leadership qualities and motivational skills

Desirable

• Specialist knowledge of working within a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency community team setting.

Experience
Essential

• Significant experience working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field
• Significant experience working with patients who display risk behaviours
• Clinical risk assessment and management and its application in practice
• Working collaboratively with service users their families and carers
• Working in a multi-disciplinary team
• Quality improvement activities
• Inter-agency and partnership working

Desirable

• Experience of working within a range of services, including inpatient and community settings.
