Clinical Fellow - Interventional RadiologyJob summaryApplications are invited for an Interventional Radiology Fellow to join the Imaging and Medical Physics Group at University Hospitals Birmingham. This post supports the expanding interventional radiology service based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital.
Accredited radiology training is essential, and the successful candidate will gain subspecialty experience under the supervision of the Interventional Radiology team. The fellow will contribute to general radiology and participate in the Interventional (SpR) on call rota. Applicants must be on, or eligible for, the Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology.
UHB is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in England and provides one of the UK's most advanced radiology services. Facilities include state of the art IR suites and hybrid theatres, with access to major tertiary specialties such as trauma, oncology, hepatobiliary, transplant, vascular and respiratory medicine. The fellow will have opportunities to develop skills in oncology intervention, embolization, vascular procedures, renal access and trauma intervention.

Main duties of the jobKey Responsibilities are to:
The successful candidate will work alongside a team of experienced Consultant Interventional Radiologists, delivering a broad range of IR procedures across our major tertiary hospitals. The fellowship provides hands-on training, supportive supervision, and exposure to both core and advanced techniques, including:
- Vascular and non vascular interventions
- Trauma and emergency IR
- HPB, renal and urological interventions
- Oncology and palliative procedures
- Image guided biopsies and drainages

Job responsibilitiesAccredited training in radiology is required, and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain experience within this radiology sub-specialty, under the guidance and supervision of the Interventional Radiology team.
