Job summary**Post: Clinical Fellow in Urology ST7+ based at Southmead Hospital and Weston General Hospital**
The Bristol Urological Institute wishes to appoint a Clinical Fellow in Urology ST7+, for 12 months.
Candidates should have recent experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practice. Candidates must currently be working in a UK NHS hospital and have a desire to practice Andrology in the NHS.
Some experience in advanced urological procedures is essential.
Please note North Bristol NHS Trust will not pay any interview expenses in connection with this post.
Main duties of the jobClinical experienceThe successful candidate will be in their final year of training (or equivalent) and have passed FRCS (Urol) or equivalent. Experience of basic urological procedures will be essential for this post such as urethral and suprapubic catheterisation, flexible cystoscopy as well as skills required for CCT e.g. TURP, TURBT and ureteric stenting. Experience of working with older or disabled people will be desirable.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of ward patients. There is an expectation that the post-holder may be asked to cover the on-call rota where there is a gap.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the service activities in the department.
Research1/2 day dedicated research session is provided for all fellows/SpRs. There is opportunity for research projects in several clinical areas, best suited to the career progression of the successful applicant.
TeachingThe Bristol Urological Institute has an active teaching programme and Fellows and Registrars are expected to actively participate in this activity. The post holder will be available to undertake teaching sessions for medical students and junior doctors as required. In certain circumstances you may be required to cover a colleague's clinical duties in order that they may deliver teaching sessions.

Person specificationQualificationsEssential- MB BS (or equivalent)
