Description

Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to support and enhance the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care within our specialist Haematology service at UHD. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with relevant experience to develop their clinical expertise, leadership skills, and make a real impact on patients living with complex haematological conditions.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Haematology, you will act as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, providing expert clinical advice, care coordination, and psychological support to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. This advert is for a permanent post within our established haematology CNS teams and will be cross site working and with shifts at both Bournemouth and Poole when needed. It's main focus will be Lymphoma and the continuation of Personalised Stratified Follow Up (PSFU).

PSFU is the provision of a remote monitoring service for patients to monitor their haematological malignancy rather than attend hospital, and helps to improve patient experience as well as generate outpatient capacity and reduce waiting times. This is a nurse led service, guided by a clinically approved protocol and Lymphoma PSFU pathway document.

You will work closely with haematology consultants, CNS's, advanced nurse practitioners, pharmacy, and allied health professionals to deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care.

Main duties of the job
  • Delivering specialist nursing care to patients with malignant haematological disorders
  • Supporting patients through the diagnostic pathway, treatment regimens, and survivorship or palliative phases
  • Leading on patient education, symptom management, and holistic needs assessments
  • Acting as a clinical resource and advocate for patients, families, and staff
  • Contributing to service improvement, audit, and the development of care pathways
  • Supporting junior staff, student nurses, and the ongoing development of the nursing team

You'll work closely with haematology consultants, advanced nurse practitioners, pharmacy, and allied health professionals to deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care
