If so we want you to join our committed, dynamic team working on Day of Surgery at the Poole Hospital.

We are an admission and day surgery unit for a wide range of surgical specialities. This will give the successful applicant the chance to learn & develop their skills in a wide range of areas and would provide diversity in their day to day working life.

The successful candidate will be responsible for admitting and preparing patients for theatre ensuring that local policy is adhered to, and caring for patients post-operatively

You would be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team under the supervision of a registered nurse within a patient facing ward. Previous experience of working in a care environment is welcomed but is not essential as comprehensive training & support are provided for all successful candidates.

Experience
Essential

• Experience of working with customers and a range of different people

Desirable

• Previous experience of working within a care environment/NHS
• Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Experience of working with the public
• Basic food handling

Knowledge
Essential

• An understanding around basic patient care
• Understanding of the importance of the promotion of health and well-being

Desirable

• Knowledge of care and related procedures, clinical observations, relevant legislation;
• Experience in admitting patients

Qualifications
Essential

• Good standard of general education including literacy and numeracy

Desirable

• GCSE (or equivalent) English and numeracy
• Completion of a competency-based workbook/Care Certificate
• Equivalent relevant experience to vocational level 3
