As an experienced senior clinician this post is open to current employees of the Trauma and Orthopaedic UHMBT team.

We have an exiting opportunity for a fixed term Governance Lead post within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Cross Bay service. This post is for a fixed period of 36 months (in alignment with other Governance and Clinical Lead roles - reviewed 3 yearly).

We are hoping to recruit to two post holders, one to be site based at Furness General Hospital, the other to be site based at Royal Lancaster Hospital. Whilst site based these posts will be expected to cross cover and work together across the needs of the service.

Initially both of these posts will be 0.5 PAs, rising to 1 PA once a training programme has been completed with the successful candidates by the current Trauma and Orthopaedic Governance Lead (4-6 months, but sooner if mutually agreed).

Main duties of the job
As the Governance Lead you will be responsible for the overall management of incidents, patient complaints and reviews.

You will help contribute to the wider care groups management team's decision making processes.

You will be a role model within the service to foster a culture of professional development and excellent standards of care, promote positive teambuilding and set priorities for your service.

About us
We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Our Community Service for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent , improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care , advice and support.
