Main duties of the jobMain Duties of the Role
As a Salaried GP at Weatheroak Medical Practice, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to our registered population through a combination of face-to-face, telephone and online consultations. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing and managing a wide range of acute and long-term conditions, promoting preventative healthcare and supporting patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals, to deliver safe, effective and coordinated care. The role also involves reviewing test results, managing clinical correspondence, maintaining accurate patient records and contributing to the continuous improvement of services within the practice.
We are looking for a GP who is committed to delivering excellent clinical care, supporting colleagues and helping the practice meet the evolving needs of our patients and community. Job Title: Salaried General Practitioner (GP)
Location: Weatheroak Medical Practice
Purpose of the RoleTo provide high-quality, patient-centred primary care services to the practice population, ensuring safe, effective and evidence-based clinical care while working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake face-to-face, telephone and online consultations for patients presenting with a wide range of health needs.
- Assess, diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with national and local guidelines.
- Promote health education, disease prevention and self-management where appropriate.
- Review and act upon pathology results, clinical correspondence and other patient-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive and contemporaneous patient records using the practice clinical system.
- Work collaboratively with practice nurses, pharmacists, healthcare assistants and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews, audits and quality improvement activities.
- Safeguard vulnerable adults and children in accordance with practice policies and statutory requirements.
- Contribute to the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), enhanced services and other contractual requirements.
- Support continuity of care and contribute to the effective running and development of practice services.
- Maintain professional registration, appraisal and continuing professional development requirements in line with GMC and NHS standards.
General Responsibilities- Adhere to all practice policies, procedures and clinical governance requirements.
- Comply with confidentiality, information governance, equality and diversity, and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a professional, respectful and compassionate approach with patients, colleagues and external partners.

Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Essential Criteria
- Experience of working in General Practice or Primary Care.
- Ability to assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic conditions.
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience of maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
- Understanding of clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement.
- Experience of using electronic patient record systems.
Desirable- Desirable Criteria
- Experience of QOF, Enhanced Services and NHS contractual requirements.
- Experience of clinical audit, service development or quality improvement projects.
- Experience of supervising, teaching or mentoring healthcare professionals or students.
QualificationsEssential- Essential Criteria
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise.
- Inclusion on the NHS England GP Performers List (or eligible for inclusion).
- MBBS, MBChB or equivalent primary medical qualification.
- MRCGP qualification or equivalent.
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable- Desirable Criteria
- Postgraduate qualification relevant to primary care.
- Special interest or additional qualification in an area that complements practice needs.
