Job Summary
Join Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in a senior leadership role where you will help shape and deliver high-quality pharmacy services across our hospital sites. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmacy technician to lead operational services, drive innovation and improve patient care.

As a key member of the Pharmacy leadership team, you will provide operational leadership for medicines management services, ensuring safe, effective and efficient service delivery. Working closely with pharmacists, technicians, nursing teams and operational colleagues, you will lead service improvement, workforce development and performance management while maintaining the highest standards of governance and regulatory compliance.

We are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking leader with excellent communication skills, a strong operational background and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. Main duties of the job
Reporting directly to the Principal Pharmacist for Operations the post-holder will provide operational management for Pharmacy services across WAHT, developing and maintaining services both in the Trust and with partner organisations.

The post-holder, together with other members of the Pharmacy Senior Management Team will be responsible for providing strong and visible leadership to the team both inside and outside of Pharmacy.

The post holder will be required to support the PTT and deputise for certain aspects of the Deputy Chief and Principal Pharmacist as needed.

Person Specification
Management/Supervision Skills
  • Ability to take responsibility for the full range of management responsibilities for a number of areas within the department e.g. recruitment, development, performance management, appraisal, discipline etc.
  • Direct line management responsibilities
  • Able to lead formal investigations into staff performance issues and make appropriate recommendations
  • Evidence of change management skills
  • Able to empower and motivate staff
  • Able to effectively manage difficult personnel and performance issues
  • Able to work across organisational boundaries
  • Able to formulate and direct policy
  • Able to plan, organise and chair meetings, ensuring action plans are delivered

Experience
Essential
  • Three years recent general management experience in an acute NHS Trust with, responsibility for operational matters including, staff management, budgetary responsibility, performance targets or specialist services.
  • Proven experience of service development.
  • Proven experience of change management ability
  • Experience of leading projects.
  • Experience of working across a number of organisations

Desirable
  • Experience in operational management of Pharmacy services in an acute NHS Trust.

Qualifications
Essential
  • Educated to NVQ3 level and/or management
  • Professional knowledge acquired through vocational masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent experience
  • Specialist knowledge acquired through diploma level or equivalent experience

Desirable
  • Graduate or post-graduate level qualification in management / leadership.
  • UK Registered healthcare professional.
  • Management qualification or working towards
