We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our fast paced Acute Medical Unit on a 12-month fixed term/ secondment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about leadership, education and developing others, while continuing to deliver exceptional care to our patients.

AMU is a 32 bedded ward, caring for patients with a wide range of complex medical needs. We are a busy, friendly and supportive team dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care. Main duties of the job
Consistently drive excellent clinical quality standards by providing visible clinical leadership to the team, and support them in the delivery of high quality, effective and evidence based care. Focus will be on patient experience, patient safety and providing assurance that standards are met for every patient, every time.

This role requires you to be assertive, flexible, resilient, forward thinking and ready to develop your leadership skills in an acute setting. You will be required to take charge in challenging circumstances, and support junior colleagues at all times.

Person Specification
Experience
Essential

• At least 18 months at Band 5 or equivalent
• Working with a wide range of professionals

Qualifications
Essential

• Registered Nurse (Level 1)
• Recognised teaching/assessing qualification

Special Knowledge
Essential

• Insight into clinical speciality
• Standards of professional practice
• Insight into current issues in nursing/ professional issues

Training
Essential

• Evidence of continued professional development and implementation in clinical practice within the last 12 months

Desirable

• Understanding of training needs in relation to post
