Team Lead Mental Health Liaison

Job summary
This role will be responsible for the delivery of an integrated Mental Health Liaison Service within the Acute Hospital Trust (Walsall Manor Hospital).

Therefore the post-holder will need to demonstrate proven leadership and problem solving skills
  • Ensuring high quality, safe, efficient and effective service delivery of the Mental Health Liaison Service, in support of biopsychosocial assessments and effective and efficient safe care pathways.
  • Ensure that all operational activity is well co-ordinated and that opportunities for joint working with other Trust services and other agencies are utilised.

Main duties of the job
The Team Lead will have designated responsibility for the day to day management and clinical leadership of the Mental Health Liaison Service. The post-holder will manage and co-ordinate the team within its day to day activity ensuring that plans and targets are fulfilled.

The Team Lead will ensure team activity supports efficient use of resources in line with an allocated budget and is in line with required performance parameters and quality standards.

The Team Lead will work closely with the Operational Manager and Consultant Psychiatrist and contribute to the development of service specific

About us
The Team Lead will ensure that local induction training, to all members of the MDT within the Mental Health Liaison Service takes place. They will be working closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialist to ensure that all clinical competency within staff roles and responsibilities for assessment, risk formulation, safety plans and liaison with other agencies are supported.

The Team Lead will provide operational leadership, supervision and support to the registered nurses within the team. There is also clinical supervision provided by the Clinical Nurse Specialist and reflective practice is provided by a Consultant Psychologist (outside of the team).

The Team Lead will communicate and promote the vision, values, objectives and priorities of the Trust effectively to staff, partners and the public.
