Job summaryWe are looking for a Locum Gynaecology Consultant with an interest in Urogynaecology care to join our team of Consultants in Women's Health at Southmead Hospital, Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, Bristol.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team when we are developing and expanding services offering high quality care to our women in all parts of our service.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will hold CCT inGynaecologyor be within 6 months of this. They may haveadditionalexperience in other specialist areas to meet the needs of the department.
CESR applicants are welcome and must have their CESR in place at the time of interview.The postholder willbe responsible forthe clinical management of patients under their care, and, in liaison with consultant colleagues, continuity of care when the post holder is absent.The postholder willbe responsible forthe professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.The postholder will berequiredto take part in a Clinical Audit Programme.

Person SpecificationQualifications & TrainingEssential- MRCOG or equivalent
- Maintain Full registration with the GMC.
- CCT in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and have been entered on the GMC Specialist Register at the time of commencing the post.
- Specialist trainees that do not hold a CCT must be due to be awarded one within 6 months of the interview date.
Desirable- Higher academic qualification (e.g., MD or MS).
ExperienceEssential- Recent experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices (or equivalent).
- Clinical training and experience in general Obstetrics & Gynaecology equivalent to that required for UK CCT
Desirable- Evidence of an interest in Urogynaecology
Clinical Knowledge and SkillsEssential- Evidence of recent CME/ reasonable training progression at this stage of career.
- Experience in audit project and written up
- Knowledge of contemporary NHS management issues.
