Description

Job summary
Join our exceptional Neurology Service at Southmead Hospital, where compassionate, patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do. Our multidisciplinary team is supportive, innovative, and ambitious, united by a shared commitment to delivering excellence and improving patient outcomes across the full spectrum of neurological conditions.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our highly regarded Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) Service, which is nationally recognised for its innovative approach to care. The service provides specialist outpatient clinics receiving referrals from both local and national sources, a unique intensive 3-week inpatient programme for people living with FND, and a pioneering liaison service supporting patients within the Emergency Department as well as acute medical, surgical, obstetric, and gynaecological wards.

Main duties of the job
This post offers post-CCT training in Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) for neurologists and psychiatrists, providing specialist experience within a multidisciplinary team. The Clinical Fellow will develop expertise in FND assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, while gaining exposure to related specialist clinics including movement disorders, epilepsy, sleep medicine, and cognitive disorders.

The role includes leading two FND clinics and one general neurology clinic per week, with additional learning opportunities in inpatient and outpatient settings. Supervision is provided by Dr Mallam and the Neuropsychiatry team. No on-call duties are required.
