The postholder will lead on the set up, implementation and KPI reporting of an Adult Dietitian Oral Nutritional Supplement (ONS) Pre-Discharge Hospital Review Service. The ambition of this service to improve prescribing of Oral Nutrition Supplements (ONS) and quality of patient care for patients. The postholder will line manage a band 5 Dietitian and supervise other Band 5 Dietitians working in this service project and coordinate/deliver education and training to ward staff, pharmacists, resident doctors and other members of the MDT.
BHT Nutrition and dietetic service is a large, integrated service which consists of over 40 members of staff, providing acute and community nutrition and dietetic services across Buckinghamshire.
We actively encourage CPD and clinical supervision for the professional development of the team. The department has good secretarial / IT support.
Main duties of the job- To lead and take responsibility for an Adult Dietitian Oral Nutritional Supplement (ONS) Pre-Discharge Hospital Review Service, the ambition is to improve prescribing of Oral Nutrition Supplements (ONS) and quality of patient care.
- The dietitian will be a highly skilled, senior practitioner able to operate at an advanced level of practice, with expert knowledge in nutrition support and appropriate prescribing of ONS.
- They will line manage and/or clinically supervise Band 5 Dietitians' work related to this pre-discharge service in collaboration with the Integrated Care Board (ICB) Medicine Optimisation Team (MOT) to monitor the outcomes of this service.

Person Specification2. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAININGEssential- Degree or equivalent qualification in Dietetics, to be eligible for HCPC registration
- Registered with HCPC
- Masters level or equivalent qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Post graduate qualification or equivalent in specialist area of nutritional support, eg PENG (equating to a module of master's degree)
Desirable- BDA member
- Member of specialist BDA group relevant to role
- Membership of a specialist group of the BDA and other relevant professional organisations.
3. EXPERIENCEEssential- experience of assessing complex clinical conditions for nutritional support
- knowledge of complex nutritional support / ANS/ complex routes of feeding.
- Skills for assessing, decision making and problem solving on a range of clinical, service delivery and development issues
- experience of student supervision

Desirable- Specialist knowledge of nutritional support including nutritional screening, food first principles.
