We're looking for a 6 session Salaried Partner to join our supportive clinical team. Main Duties of the Job

• Provide high-quality, patient-centred medical care through face-to-face, telephone and remote consultations.
• Assess, diagnose, investigate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in line with current evidence-based practice.
• Prescribe safely and effectively, making appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services where required.
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, supporting colleagues across the practice to deliver safe, efficient and compassionate care.
• Contribute to the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), Enhanced Services and other contractual and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support the development of practice services, clinical governance, audit and quality improvement activities.
• Participate in practice meetings, significant event reviews and ongoing service development.
• Supervise, support and share knowledge with clinical and non-clinical staff where appropriate, contributing to a positive learning culture.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using the practice clinical system.
• Work in accordance with GMC guidance, NHS policies and practice protocols, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and patient confidentiality.
• Joining as a GP with a view to Partnership, contribute to the ongoing development of the practice and, where appropriate, take an active role in leadership, service development and the future strategic direction of the organisation.

Job Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary medical services to registered patients.
• Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
• Undertake face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations.
• Carry out home visits where clinically appropriate.
• Prescribe safely and cost-effectively in accordance with national and local guidance.
• Arrange and interpret appropriate investigations.
• Refer patients appropriately to secondary care and community services.
• Promote preventative healthcare and health education.
• Manage long-term conditions in line with national guidance.
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
• Participate in safeguarding adults and children in accordance with practice policies.
• Recognise and manage medical emergencies.

Team Working

• Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, healthcare assistants, reception, dispensary and administrative teams.

Partnership Responsibilities

• Following appointment to Partnership, responsibilities may include:
• Contributing to the strategic leadership of the practice.
• Supporting business planning and practice development.
• Participating in financial and operational decision-making.
• Helping ensure the long-term sustainability of the practice.
• Acting as a leader within the multidisciplinary team.
• Representing the practice at Primary Care Network and external meetings where appropriate.

Professional Responsibilities

• The post holder will:
• Maintain full GMC registration and a licence to practise.
• Participate in annual NHS appraisal and five-yearly revalidation.
• Undertake mandatory training.
• Maintain appropriate medical indemnity.
• Work within GMC Good Medical Practice.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with UK GDPR and Data Protection legislation.
• Follow all practice policies relating to health and safety, infection prevention and control, safeguarding and equality, diversity and inclusion.

• Qualified GP
• MRCGP
• Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
• Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
• Full GMC registration
• Performers List registration noting that confirmation on this list is adequate for DBS confirmation
• England Conforms to the National Performers List and is able to perform any such service as detailed within Regulation 24 of the National Health Service (Performers Lists) (England) Regulations 2013.
• Appropriate defence indemnity
• Evidence of current validation
• Evidence of last appraisal
• Eligibility to practice in the UK independently

Experience
Essential

• Ability to both work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Experience of working in a primary care environment
• Experience of providing home visits
• Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
• General understanding of the primary care contract
• Proven ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice
• Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP
• Understanding of the importance of evidence based practice
• Good MS Office and clinical system IT knowledge
• Understanding of the spectrum of clinical governance processes
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) including recording of accurate clinical notes
• Knowledge of health promotion strategies
• Ability to work within own scope of practice and understand when to refer to GP colleagues
• Experience of triage and the ability to effectively assess and diagnose
