Main duties of the jobWorking pattern: Part-time 6 sessions, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
In this role, you will provide high-quality medical care to a diverse patient population, managing a wide range of acute and long-term conditions within a general practice setting. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care while also contributing to service development and quality improvement within the practice.
You will have the opportunity to support education and training activities and play an active role in maintaining and enhancing clinical standards, alongside contributing to the day-to-day running and future direction of the practice.

Job responsibilitiesThe post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality general medical services to the practice population, providing safe, effective, and patient-centred care in line with current clinical guidelines and best practice.
Salaried GP key responsibilities include:- Undertaking clinical consultations, both face-to-face and remote, for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
- Assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients appropriately, including prescribing and referral where necessary
- Providing ongoing care for patients with long-term conditions, ensuring continuity and holistic management
- Participating as part of the acute on-call team, responding to urgent patient needs and supporting same-day access within the practice
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate medical records
- Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support coordinated patient care
- Participating in practice meetings, clinical governance activities, and service development initiatives
- Contributing to quality improvement, audit, and patient safety processes
- Supporting the practices commitment to education, including involvement in training and mentoring where appropriate
Practice ResponsibilitiesTeamwork & CollaborationWork as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team including GPs, GP trainees, pharmacists, paramedics, nurses, HCAs, reception and administrative staff
Actively participate in monthly clinical meetings
Contribute to case discussions, shared learning, and continuous service development
Provide clinical leadership, advice, and support to colleagues as appropriate

Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Experience of working as a GP in UK General Practice.
- Ability to manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good knowledge of current NHS General Practice, contractual requirements and clinical governance.
- Excellent consultation and communication skills.
- Commitment to patient-centred, high-quality care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good IT skills, including experience of electronic clinical record systems (experience with TPP SystmOne would be desirable rather than essential unless you wish to make it essential).
- Understanding of QOF, enhanced services and safeguarding responsibilities.
Desirable- Experience of using TPP SystmOne.
- Experience of participating in QOF and quality improvement activities.
- A specialist clinical interest that complements the needs of the practice.
- Experience of teaching or supervising learners.
- Experience of working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
QualificationsEssential- MBBS, MBChB or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
- MRCGP.
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- Included on the NHS England Medical Performers List (or eligible for inclusion).
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice or equivalent.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD and participation in appraisal and revalidation.
Desirable- Additional clinical qualifications or specialist interests.
- Experience of teaching, training or supervising learners.
- Experience in quality improvement, audit or service development.
- Experience of digital consultations and remote consulting.
