Job summaryWe are seeking to recruit a Specialist Dietitian to join our Weight management and Type 2 Diabetes service.
Our Weight Management and Type 2 Diabetes team is a multidisciplinary service, delivering care across the health board through both in person and remote (virtual) services.
There are opportunities for flexible working and some work from home. This is a Health board wide service that aligns to the All Wales Weight Management Pathway so the ability to travel between Health board sites and community venues is essential.

Main duties of the job- To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based/client centred principles e.g. weight management.
- To assess, plan, evaluate and implement Dietetic interventions in specialist outpatient clinics and community care settings and including community visits and education sessions at community facilities.
- To implement aspects of the treatment plan with autonomy, taking sole responsibility for the patient's safety when undertaking community work.
- To work in partnership with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- To maintain clinical records in accordance with legal requirements and professional standards.
- To develop skills and knowledge through continued personal and professional development.
- Demonstrates at all times, personal behaviour congruent with professional status.
- To promote and represent the Department and Organisation both internally and externally to the organisation and provide colleagues with professional advice and opinion in a professional manner

Person SpecificationQualifications and/or KnowledgeEssential- BSc. Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent Dietetic Degree/Qualification with state registration.
- Knowledge of current reports and publications underpinning this post.
- Awareness of current developments in dietetic practice.
Desirable- Behaviour modification training or motivational interviewing training and or skills.
ExperienceEssential- Postgraduate clinical experience, including this area of specialty.
- Experience of presenting to groups and delivering Group Education.
Aptitude and Abilities SkillsEssential- Demonstrate understanding and acknowledges motivational principles in relation to change management and gaining the co-operation of others.
- Computer literate with standard keyboard skills.
Desirable- Welsh language skills in Speaking/Listening at Level 3 or above
CircumstancesEssential- Ability to travel throughout Community and UHB sites in a timely manner.
