Job summaryWe have a FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY to provide operational leadership and management of the Amber Valley Wound Clinics.
We are looking for an established Band 6 or a Band 5 with significant post-registration experience.
You must have a desire to promote effective evidence-based care to a defined population. This is achieved through effective delegation, caseload management, monitoring of care standards, leadership, and the performance management of team members.
This Band 6 post will require a proactive and energetic individual who will contribute to the development and implementation of community nursing, specifically lower-limb wound management, within integrated care pathways and business plans.

You must be a Registered Nurse with wound care/vascular/dermatology experience within a Band 6/experienced Band 5 role.

The Amber Valley Wound Clinic team provides care at Alfreton Primary Care Centre, Babington Health Centre, and Heanor Memorial Health Centre, with hours of 08.30 - 16.30 Monday - Sunday (including Bank Holidays).
Main duties of the jobTo provide operational management for the immediate team, including attendance management, recruitment, performance issues, supervision, and appraisals.
Be aware of current local and national issues which are influencing services.
Be responsible for overall Caseload Management. Monitor standards of care, deploy and supervise team members as appropriate, and manage own workload daily.
Provide high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
Be involved in the education and training of junior and other staff employed in care settings.
Act as a champion for the wound clinic service area and attend wound care improvement groups.
Have an awareness of resource management and budgetary position for the service.
Be aware of current local and national issues which are influencing services.
Facilitate, develop, evaluate and share good working practice.
Provide learning opportunities and experiences for team members and others, promoting a positive learning environment with particular attention to the needs of staff new to the Wound Clinic setting.
Participate in service development and audits as required, especially in documenting wound-healing rates within the clinic environment.
Actively support the development of a culture that is open to change and innovation.
Provide highly specialised nursing care to individuals with complex needs, making use of current evidence to inform the delivery and promote the development of clinically effective care.

- Support Caseload Management. Monitor standards of care, deploying and supervising team members as appropriate and the daily clinical patient care.

Person SpecificationEducation, Qualifications and TrainingEssential- Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration
- Evidence of recent and ongoing CPD/learning
- V300 prescriber or willing to work towards
- Degree level or equivalent Tissue Viability specialist course or willing to work towards
- Student mentorship experience
Experience and Knowledge RequiredEssential- Post registration experience in a Band 5/Band 6 role
- Caseload/ward management experience
- Proven clinical expertise, knowledge and experience in implementing service improvement
