The post requires fast and accurate audio typing skills, and a sound knowledge of medical terminology.
Good communication, organisational skills, and previous secretarial experience is essential as is experience of dealing with sensitive information. Knowledge of medical terminology and previous experience using hospital based IT systems such as Solventum, Meditech Expanse and Electronic Patient Records will be advantageous.

QualificationsEssential- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in administration or clerical work
Knowledge & SkillsEssential- Basic knowledge of medical terminology or willingness to learn
- Good keyboard and IT skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organise own workload and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
ExperienceEssential- Experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably within healthcare
- Experience using IT systems for data entry and record keeping
Desirable- Experience working within the NHS or a GP practice
- Familiarity with patient administration systems
- Experience handling patient enquiries
