Looking for a rewarding and challenging role where you can make a difference to patients, Glebe Park Surgery are looking for a 6 session GP to join our team.
Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, referrals and correspondence in a timely manner.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self referred or referred from other health care workers within the Practice.
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
About usWe are a growing practice with over 7600 patients. Located in the north of the vibrant university city of Lincoln. Our team consists of 1 GP Partner, 1 non clinical partner, 3 Salaried GP's 2 ACP's. We work collaboratively with 8 other local practices as a member of the IMP PCN group.

Job responsibilitiesThe following are the core responsibilities of a GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
- a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
- b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
- c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
- d. Effective management of long-term conditions
- e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
- f. On a rotational basis, undertake duty doctor roles
- g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
- h. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
- i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
- j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
- k. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or QOF
- l. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
- m. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice
- n. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
- o. Prepare and complete the revalidation process
- p. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
- q. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
- r. Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
- s. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
