Job summary
Want to work in the Integrated Safeguarding Team? We have hours available (to be negotiated). You will benefit from a supportive team, frequent workload meetings, shared learning, whilst working flexibly to maintain work-life balance. The team is based in Worcester with some home-working, therefore the ability to work independently & across several virtual platforms with good internet at home is essential. We link together via MS Teams & seek a highly motivated & dynamic practitioner to join our forward-thinking team. If you can adapt to changing priorities quickly, work efficiently, & use your initiative, youll enjoy this role. We provide all equipment, continual professional development & a range of wellbeing services & support. If you are someone with vision, creative ideas & a "can do" approach, you will be supported by a team which cares as much for each other as they do for ourpatients, & where protection of individuals from harm & abuse is paramount in our day-to-day work.

Main duties of the job
You will help with the assessment of information received according to safeguarding policy & the identification of key health information to be shared with other agencies to make decisions on risk & plans for adult & children. Areas include domestic abuse police logs, vulnerable adult incident police logs, MASH information exchanges, childrens strategy meetings, scoping for statutory reviews, emergency department attendance for children & information on individuals who have gone missing or at risk of exploitation. The role supports the work of the Named Nurses for Safeguarding Children and Adults & will ensure that HWHCT fulfils its statutory obligations towards promoting the safety & well-being of children & adults in Hereford/Worcestershire & support staff. You will provide safeguarding supervision and training across HWHCT & support with audit & developing resources/guidance. You will have good working knowledge of Safeguarding practice & Mental Capacity Act policies/procedures.

  • Knowledge of current safeguarding legislative frameworks including Mental Capacity Act.
  • Knowledge of the multi-agency nature of safeguarding including the roles of Local Safeguarding Boards and Partnerships.
  • In depth knowledge of confidentiality and justifications for information sharing without consent.

Qualifications
Essential
  • First level degree in related subject Registered Nurse (Level 1), Midwife or Allied Health Professional.
  • Diploma/post graduate level specialist training, experience (e.g., Community Teaching/ assessing qualification, Safeguarding, Specialist Community Public Health qualification).
  • Evidence of relevant safeguarding training to level 3 across adults and children.
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.

Desirable
  • Clinical Supervision supervisor.

Experience
Essential
  • Experience of working with complex families.
  • Experience of managing child protection issues including attendance at case conference and involvement in core groups.
  • Experience of multi agency working and a working knowledge of Child Protection procedures and policies.
  • Experience of report writing.
  • Experience of undertaking risk assessments.

Desirable
  • Experience of working with adults with complex needs.
  • Experience in undertaking audit.
  • Experience of policy development and implementation.
