Job summary
Kings Lane Medical Practice is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated GP to join our welcoming and highly supportive team on a fixed-term contract of 7-9 months, depending on the successful candidate's start date. The contract will run until 31 March 2027. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a GP seeking a flexible and rewarding position within a well-established training practice. Whether you are looking to complement a portfolio career, return to practice, gain experience within a progressive primary care setting, or simply achieve a healthier work-life balance, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Main duties of the job
Provided comprehensive primary care services to a diverse patient population, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic medical conditions. Conducted face-to-face, telephone. Prescribed medications appropriately, and made referrals to secondary care and community services when required. Maintained accurate and timely clinical records using electronic patient record systems. Participated in multidisciplinary team working, clinical meetings, safeguarding activities, quality improvement initiatives, and practice development. Contributed to health promotion, preventive care, and the delivery of NHS contractual requirements while ensuring high standards of patient care, confidentiality, and professional practice. Fixed term contract 7-9 months ending 31st March 2027, 3 sessions per week prefered sessions Tuesday PM, Wednesday PM, Thursday PM.

Person Specification
Qualifications - Essential
  • Fully qualified General Practitioner with current registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to maintaining clinical competence.

Qualifications - Desirable
  • Experience in teaching, mentoring, or supervising healthcare professionals.
  • Participation in audit, research, or quality improvement projects.
  • Special clinical interests relevant to primary care services.

Experience - Essential
  • Experience of working in primary care and delivering high-quality patient-centred services.
  • Experience in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Experience of using electronic clinical record systems such as EMIS and docman.
  • Experience of working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Experience - Desirable
  • Experience in teaching, mentoring, or supervising healthcare professionals.
  • Participation in audit, research, or quality improvement projects.
  • Special clinical interests relevant to primary care services.
