Job summary
We're looking for a Specialist Community Dietitian to join our Community Dietetics Service at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, based at Minerva Health Centre, working across Central Lancashire and South Ribble to provide specialist dietary advice to adults (over 16 years).

Is this role right for you?
This could be a great fit if you:
  • Are a Band 6 Dietitian (or ready to work at Band 6 level)
  • Enjoy community-based, patient-facing work
  • Are confident managing a varied caseload
  • Value teamwork but are happy working independently
  • Want a role that's meaningful, practical and people-focused

If you're looking for a community dietetics job where you can really get to know your patients, develop specialist skills, and be part of a supportive local team -- we'd love to hear from you.
Interested? Apply now to find out more and have a conversation with us about whether this role is right for you.

Main duties of the job
This is a hands-on adult community dietetics role, where no two days are quite the same. You'll manage your own varied adult caseload, supporting adults who are at risk of malnutrition, require oral nutrition support, or are established on home enteral feeding.

Your work will include:
  • Seeing patients in outpatient clinics at Minerva and other local health centres
  • Carrying out domiciliary visits in patients' own homes and nursing homes
  • Delivering practical, patient-centred dietetic care in real-life settings
  • Working closely with MDT colleagues across community services

Development & support
We're committed to helping you grow. You'll have:
  • Plenty of opportunities for CPD and training
  • Support from experienced colleagues and team leads
  • Space to develop specialist skills in malnutrition and home enteral feeding
  • The chance to shape how we deliver community dietetic services locally

About us
We're a small, friendly and motivated Community Dietetics team who genuinely support one another. The Community Dietetics service recently transferred under Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The team sits alongside the large acute dietetics service which comprises a team of experienced Registered Dietitians, Dietetic Support workers and administrative staff.

We work hard and share knowledge. Community work can be busy and demanding at times, but it's also incredibly rewarding - seeing the impact of your work directly in patients' lives is why we do it.

Job responsibilities
Please see attached Job Description and Person Specification.

Hours and contract
Permanent, full-time role. 37.5 hours per week, worked over 5 days.
Community base: Minerva Health Centre, Lowthorpe Road, Preston, PR1 6SB.
You'll need to be confident working independently, organised, and must be able to travel.
