Main duties of the jobThe Band 6 Podiatrists role is to be responsible for providing MSK rehabilitation to service personnel with complex clinical needs within the Lower Limbs Service. They are also responsible for the routine care of a small inpatient cohort with complex needs. The clinician is required to assess patients pre-surgically and decide on their suitability for surgical intervention. They are required to utilise local anaesthetic injection therapy as well as post-operative wound care dressings and care planning. They are required to keep up to date with rheumatology, vascular pathology, neurological and post-surgical wounds.

Job responsibilities- Providing high-standard MSK podiatry services to outpatient & inpatients at DMRC Stanford Hall.
- Planning and implementing the development of the podiatry service as required to meet demand.
- Assist in evaluating the current need of the podiatry service and contracts within the region.
- Provide MSK podiatry advice/support to the teams at DMRC Stanford Hall.
- Only utilise Ministry of Defence (MOD) approved orthotics in order to complete the evaluation and report.
- Provide input into the DMRC in service training programme as directed by advanced practitioner podiatrist and Officer Commanding (OC) Lower Limbs.
- Support the clinical needs of the inpatient cohort with regular foot care and nail surgery where appropriate.
Person SpecificationRegistrations and Memberships- Registered with Health & Care Professions Council.
- Member of Royal College of Podiatry.

QualificationsExperience- Have experience in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.
Desirable- Considering or undertaking a postgraduate specialist training to Masters Level or equivalent in Clinical Biomechanics / Advanced clinical practice.
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience.
- Evidence of attendance of related courses.
- Experience of working with a military population.
